Nail comes out of man's head after MRI scan...

April 3, 2009 - Jose Sanchez didn't know how the nail got into his head that came out after he started coughing during his MRI scan.

While the story doesn't go into a lot of detail,  this could easily happen if your patient is unaware of any metallic implants or fragments. To all MRI practitioners out there, most of you know that if there is ever any doubt, take a pre MRI study film to confirm that absence of dangerous metallic objects.             (We have a question....how did they get this picture if the nail came out after the MRI?)
